I’m probably going to go back and do the Cottonelle deal again later this week.
If I can round up another copy of this weekends’ SmartSource insert, I have a Hershey’s candy deal to do to:

-use (3) $2/2 from SmartSource 5/1/11
(1) Reese’s PB Cup $0.49
-use $5 RR from Transaction #5 above

So, I realize that Easter baskets have really NOTHING to do with the real meaning of Easter.  However, they are fun and my child enjoys getting one, so….  After discussing the REAL meaning of Easter with him.  He will be receiving a basket.  And, of course, it will be a basket on a budget! 🙂

Here are some items that will be included in the baskets at our house (my husband gets a basket, too :)):
(4) Chocolate covered peeps
-purchased at Walgreens this week 2/$1 (used $1/2 printable no longer available) = FREE
(2) M&Ms mini egg $0.99 (used $2/2 from All You magazine) = FREE
-got these last week at CVS
(2) Reese’s PB egg King Size $0.99 (used $1/2 from Sunday paper) = $0.49 ea.
-got these this week at CVS
(2) Kit-Kat candy bars 2/$1 (used $1/2 from Sunday paper, it pictured easter candy, but worked on these) = FREE
-got these this week at CVS
(2) Reese’s regular Reese’s PB cup 2/$1 (used 1/$2 from Sunday paper-same as Kit-Kat) = FREE
-got these this week at CVS
(1) Hot Wheels car $0.99 (only my son gets one of these, although my husband would probably like one, too :))
(2) Cadbury carmel eggs 2/$1 (used these to fill out an order, so I could use a RR last week at Walgreens) = FREE

Baskets (purchased 2-3 years ago and reused every year :))
Easter “grass” $0.99 (FREE after ECB at CVS this week)

There are a couple other deals that I’m going to try and do yet this week to add to the baskets, but I think I have a pretty good start and I’ve spent $1.97 so far. 🙂
I got the idea to post my basket list from The Krazy Coupon Lady’s post about cheap Easter baskets, check it out!

There are a couple of deals that are duplicated between Walgreens and CVS and I ALWAYS prefer CVS!!

Here’s my Walgreens list:
Transaction #1:
Goody Ouchless Hair ties $3 (get $3 RR)
-use $3 RR from a couple weeks ago
=pay tax only!

Transaction #2:
Colgate Toothpaste/Toothbrushes 2/$6 (Get $4 RR when you buy 2)
-use $1/1 Colgate toothbrush from Sunday paper (can’t remember the date, sorry)
-use $1.50/1 Colgate total toothpaste from Sunday paper (again, no date, sorry)

Scotch tape $1.99 (Buy 1, Get 2 Free with in-ad coupon)
-use 2 $1/1 printable

Chocolate Peeps 2/$1 (with in-ad coupon)
-use $1/2 printable

-use $3 RR from first transaction

=$0.50 + tax (receive $4 RR)

Transaction #3:
Goody Ouchless Headbands $3 (Receive $3 RR)

(2) Cadbury eggs 2/$1 (with in-ad coupon)

-use $4 RR from transaction #2

=only tax (receive $3 RR)

So, total OOP = $0.50 + tax for all three transactions (plus $3 RR for next week!)

Once again I’m a blogging slacker, but I did have a good week at Walgreens.  This week was a good example of how you can roll needed items into your transactions to get stuff for free even if you don’t have a coupon for the item.  Check it out.  Here’s what I got at Walgreens this week:

Transaction #1:
(1) Gillette ProGlide Razor $9.99 (Get $4 RR when you buy 1)
-use $5/1 from a home mailer I received!

(1) Hershey’s Easter candy $0.39
use $4 RR from last week

Total shelf price: $14.28
Total after sales/coupons/RR: $2.08 (86% savings)

What made this week even better is that my Walgreens had the ProGlide Razor “Gift Packs” included in the $9.99 sale.  I got a razor, trial size shaving cream, trial size body wash, and trial size body scrub.  All for $0.99 after coupons and register rewards! 🙂

Transaction #2:
(1) Hellman’s mayo (this is my “rolled in” item)
(3) Nescafe 7 packs $1 (Buy 3, Get $3 RR)
-use $1.50/3 catalina coupon that printed last week
-use $4 RR from transaction #1

Total shelf price: 8.99
Total after sales/coupons/RR: $0.49 (95% savings); plus I have $3 RR for next week!

I only picked up two deals at Walgreens this week.  I like to have the Nescafe on hand when we go camping.  It’s easier than trying to brew coffee on a campfire! 🙂

(4) Nescafe individual instant coffe, 7 packet $1
-buy 4, get $4 RR

(2) Chinet 10 pack dinner plates $2.99 (Buy One, Get One)
-use (2) $1/1 printable (when you register)

Total shelf price: $9.98
Total after sales and coupons: $2.99 (Get $4 RR)

Just a couple deals I’d like to get at Walgreens this week:

Transaction #1:
(3) Reach Floss $0.99 (Buy 3, Get $2 RR)
-use (3) $1/1 Reach floss printable
-Update: There was no RR, so this is NOT a moneymaker, but is still free.  Make sure you use your manufacturer’s coupons FIRST, then the in-ad coupon to make them $0.99!

Transaction #2:
Plackers Flossers, 90 ct $2 (Buy 1, Get $2)

-use $2 RR from trasaction #1

Transaction #3:
Method hand soap $2.99 (Buy 1, Get $2 RR)

-use $2 RR from transaction #2

So, total OOP for all of the above = $0.99 +tax (end up with $2 RR for next week)

One of the most important things I’ve learned doing this whole couponing thing is that you have to keep an open mind about where you’ll buy something.

For example, Walgreens is a “pharmacy.”  However, sometimes they have the best price in town on certain food items.  That’s the case this week.

(2) Cheerios $1.99
-use $1/2 General mills cereals printable

We eat Cheerios like there’s no tomorrow, so I’m always on the lookout for good prices. 🙂

(2) Right Guard Deodorant Buy One, Get One Free
-the websites say there was a Buy One Get One Free coupon, but as usual our area didn’t get the coupon
-I’m going to check the price, but I have (2) $1/1 Right Guard coupons (I’ll keep you posted)
